Profile Information

Location:

About Me:
I'm hopelessly addicted to beads, polymer clay, soft pastel, graphite and other forms of art.

I have my own website, which I love to mess around with and add to. It contains my art beads, my artwork and the other fun things I create. I also have *free* polymer clay tutorials on it for those that are interested. No strings, I just like sharing my knowledge!

Because of physical health issues I'm unable to work outside the house and the sale of my beads and artwork is my sole income. When I was little I never thought I'd say that I'd grow up to be an artist! It's a lot of work, but I absolutely love what I do and it has given me a chance to explore a part of me that was buried for a long time.

Favorite Designers/Artists:
Some of my favorite designers and artists are my friends. I also love most impressionist masters, talented independent artists, and pretty much anything else. I just love art.
Favorite Music/Musicians:
I'm a punk rocker at heart but love most rock type music, with the occasional folk, indie, jazz, classical and whatever else thrown in for good measure. .
Favorite TV Show & Movies:
Good Eats, Big Love, pretty much any sitcom (I have a hopeless addiction to old sitcoms), and a lot of the HBO and Showtime series. I'm also a big fan of...PBS!! It's on my favorites on my remote. ;-)
Favorite Books / Authors:
I'm a fantasy nerd, I'll admit it. But my all time favorite author is Stephen King. Others include James Oliver Rigney Jr. (aka Robert Jordan), Terry Goodkind, Robin Hobb, James Axler (Deathlands series), George R. R. Martin, Raymond E. Feist. In horror, I am really getting into Bentley Little and I pretty much like anything zombie or post-apocalyptical. Non-fiction authors include Lee Hammond, the gals that write the Fit for Real People books, most anything well written and craft related. I'm not that into literary fiction and am more of a genre kind of gal. I will never be without a book though!

Hopefully back!

I've been very absent from here for a long, long time. Hopefully I will be back to stay. Among other things going on, I've recently gotten pretty into sewing with my not so great sewing machine. While the machine is old, and probably needs servicing it's new to me. I got it last year from someone on my local freecycle. On the off chance that someone might have a sewing machine laying around, I posted a "want" and a generous and nice woman answered it. She gave me a half hour crash course and I w… Continue

New Beads

...snore... wha?

Oh, sorry...I've been so tired these past few days. Last weekend I was in the ER becasue of some health issues, which are now resolved thankfully, but after following up with my doctor I found out that I have anemia. What?! I think I've been feeling it lately. It just makes me so tired. It's hard to work on things when I feel so tired I want to cry. But, apparently that's "normal". Argh... I've been taking iron supplements and trying to eat better and yesterday I felt O… Continue

Finally moved, whew!

We're finally moved into our new place and I'm just happy as a clam! We've got boxes everywhere but are all alone with no roommates for once. Niiiice!

I'm having to redo my work area because now we have enough room for all the art stuff we have combined. The problem now is setting up so that things don't look cluttered. Before we had everything but the drafting table and some art supplies crammed into a single small bedroom. There was nothing we could do that wouldn't make things look c… Continue

Sold a painting!

Undulation, 16 x 20 Pastel

It was sold before I even knew it! I sent the picture of it to a friend of mine because she loves the ocean as much as I do and she said that she wanted first dibs before anyone else if I was going to sell it. Well, I had intended on

I know, there are so many places to keep track of anymore. Your beads are fabulous - even more so in person! I honestly don't know how you create such gorgeous beads but I'm thrilled to work them into my bracelets - thanks!
