For those of us who know we have talent. We darn well know it! But, it seems like everyone else gets seen before us. Sometimes we are in the shadows, sometimes we wonder why we do what we do! It's because, we LOVE IT! And we want others to love it 2

Profile Information

Location:
Santa Clara, California
About Me:
I make handmade silk thread accessories. This craft was originally a traditional Chinese folk art where women would make these handmade flowers to wear as hair ornaments and brooches when they are about to get married. However, as it requires lots of time and patience to make these lovely flowers, few people nowadays know about it let alone are willing to learn how to make them, and it is slowly becoming a lost art. Also, as we are becoming more technologically advanced, a lot of the red flowers that Chinese brides wear are plastic red flowers made from the factory instead of keeping on with this wonderful tradition.

I was very fortunate to learn how to make these beautiful silk flowers from my grand auntie when I was a little girl, and I would like to keep this tradition alive by introducing more people to this art that I have learn to make and love.
