Thanks so much! I am going south for a week then to Oregon for 2 weeks. I will figure out what I need while I am gone since I will get a better fell for what colors are "in" and let you know. Thanks again, both for the great customer service and kind words!

Hi! Do you ever have orphan lots of beads? I rarely need so many of one color and buy quite a bit from a few Etsians who have mixed lots.

Thank you for the comment. We worked hard to find the right packaging. We are currently on our 3rd or 4th version, and hopefully our last for a while. The only problem with packaging is the cost! Man who would have thought it would cost so much to package things so nicely.

Thanks again,

Thank you so much for your kind words! I love the lampwork, I wish I had the talent but I know if I tried I would end up bandaged from head to toe! Still, I like to use them in my designs.

I do not require credit for making the bead. All I ask is that you not claim that you made the actual beads yourself if you resell them. If you are intending to resell them, ask me, I will probably send you pictures to use.

Tried and True Becomes New

Trends come and go. The decision to follow a trend can be tough, can you to stand out in a sea of artists making trendy pieces, or do you want to make what people are buying? Is the latest trend going to stay or is it a flash in the pan? One of the latest trends for lampworkers and design… Continue

Christmas K.I.S.S. Designs

Holiday jewelry tends to be gaudy and occasionally requires batteries. This type of jewelry can be fun at some parties and in some settings, but not appropriate most of the time. Finding nice, attractive holiday jewelry can be a challenge.

I have found the holiday jewelry I have worn most over the years is on the simpler side. It tends to match more of my clothes while making a statement without yelling.

I kept thi… Continue

How much time for SHTUFF do you have?

How much time should I spend marketing versus my creating time?

Wow! Good question!

I have kept track of my torch time, studio maintenance time, marketing time, and shipping and bookkeeping. I felt as though I was walking in circles, so I decided that the best way to figure out how to streamline and consolidate my tasks and see where I was losing time was to keep track of it. I bought a cheap timer and put it on a notepad in the corner of my studio. I wrote down everything I did and how long i… Continue

Online selling and buying: Shops vs. Sites vs. Auctions

Hmmm... good question! Obviously none is better than the other or there would not be so many of each.

What is best for you? What is best for me. I have no idea what-so-ever. If I did, we would both be rich and famous.

I have a website. My website is more for reference and a gallery for my clients. It also gives me a place to promote my newsletter and post designers work and promote designers when they ask for it. (Yep, want me to promote you? Just ask!)

In the middle of nowhere... and dealing with dishonesty

My regular residence is in the middle of the desert in the middle of nowhere in southern Arizona.

I like it that way. I am not anti-social, but I truly enjoy the solitude. Occasionally I am away from people for too long at a time and when I do finally have a conversation with somebody other than Sam or the cats, I tend to talk their ears off. I do this in emails and other correspondences, too. If I talk your ears off, just tune me out, I will never notice.

I have a second residence. Both my ho… Continue
