Using disposable materials, collected before they enter the waste stream, participants construct “Maskostumes” which are original pageant masks and costumes inspired by traditions from around the world. This project reduces waste and inspires people to see each other and our environment in a new way.

Trash Mash-Up at The Big One

Trash Mash-Up will be featured at The Big One on Saturday, June 21 from 11:00am to 1:00pm. The Big One is a two-day event on June 21 and 22nd that will be co-created by the community. There will be a village in Golden Gate Park to engage around the issues of our time and to explore potential solutions. Trash Mash-Up is kicking off the 2008 parade season!

We want you to be involved.

Saturday, April 12th 12:00 -12:30 pm parade, show up at 11:30am.
The Healthy Kids Event, presented by the YMCA and Hamilton Rec Connect. This event takes place in the Margaret S. Hayward Playground at Laguana and Golden Gate. It is a family fun day with lots of activities.

Trash Mash-Up's spirt of creating a new urban tradition has reached

Trash Mash-Up at SF Environment's EcoCenter

Trash Mash-Up (TMU) will be exhibiting their
original "Maskostumes" at San Francisco Environment's EcoCenter the
months of December through February. Come see the remarkable work
done by local youth from the Western Addition. On January 13th, 2008
from 10 am - 3pm, Trash Mash-Up will be a part of Department of
