trish, I had a wonderful dinner one night at that fire hall as a halfway mtg place for my college roomie... the local farm we stayed told us about it.

the muse for the pic, was is there fire in paradise? it just struck me as a fun wordplay...

thanks for sharing the jabon story, and the prayers. That's what happened to me knittig... I just learned while out on a knee injury and prayers with each stitch came.

I am also an unpublished, multi-talented... seeking my right role in life, and how to become more productive. Are you familiar with Joyce Meyers or Charles Stanley, In Touch?

I just started back to work & having trouble getting back into doing my devotions regularly so this way of sharing may be interesting. Particularily want to have support as a Christian, becoming Proverbs 31 woman.

Usually when sharing, I like to use the indie email so personal dialog, unless writing a general msg.

Blessings,

The Story of Soapy Blessings:

Soapy Blessings by Trish started with a fictional story I wrote several years ago. A character in the book made soap as a way to survive a civil war in a Latin American country. With every product she made, her prayers went over every item in an effort to bring healing and peace to everyone the soap touched. Her soaps began to be sought out by the locals and eventually the region because the effect quickly became legendary.

Unfortunately, the character in the book did not survive the first draft, but I've kept the concept tucked away…and so Soapy Blessings began.

In addition to making a beautiful, fragrant, healthful product, I wanted to emulate the fictional woman that was cut from the story. It is my desire that each item sold or given as a gift will not only be a wonderful product, but that prayers of peace and healing would pass along as well.

When I'm not making soaps and other body care products, I'm a mom, wife, nurse, and most importantly, I am a child of God. I'm artsy, eclectic, diverse, a bit nerdy, and overly spontaneous at times. I'm open, honest, "what you see is all there is" type. I have no hidden agendas. I'm friendly, yet shy. I love to write and have written a variety of short stories, poems and one novel. None are published, but I'd like change that.

A New Name

I was very happy with my old name, Jabon Soaps, for quite awhile now. It seemed to fit well for me. I had looked across the internet prior to choosing that name to see if it was being used by anyone else and had not found anything in the search engine. So, I felt secure with the name.

I looked again the other day and lo and… Continue

Excerpt from "My First Experience at Making Soap"

My first experience with making soap came from a box that I purchased at a craft store, which is not an unusual thing. Lots of folk start out that way. My reason for purchasing it may have been just a bit different though.

I had a couple of agendas. First, I wanted something to do with my kids that we could do together. My kids are preteen/teenager and I wanted something easy enough but would still catch their interest. Secondly, I had written a novel that initially included a character that ma… Continue

What's my Motivator

What motivates you to do the things you do when you do them? Do you so get into doing what you're doing that you forget what you're doing?

I do.

I mean, look at what I'm doing! It's more like, look at what I'm NOT doing. I'm a child of God, that's just who I am. But, being a child of God carries responsibility too. Just like you have the responsibility to honor your parents, your heavenly parent should have honor. But is the motivator called responsibility? Or is it based on lov
