Marketing can take up a large amount of time for those crafters' who wish to sell their creations. Coming up with new and unique methods of marketing is often very difficult. This group is for those who want to share their experiences and techniques.
Mother of 2 young children, educator with 3 part-time jobs. I started an online shabby chic store recently which allows me to spend a lot more time on my hobbies (and in-turn myself). I love making things!
Gender:
Gal
I am a/an:
Independent Artist/Designer, Supporter, Shopper
(Designers only) I create:
Mostly shabby chic home decor, but I also enjoy card making. Living in Oregon means outdoor activities, like painting, can't happen year-round. Card-making is my indoor craft during those times.
(Designers only) I am willing to do:
Custom orders
(Designers only) I have been featured on:
Various blogs.
(Designers only) My work is sold at:
www.ShabbyNChic.etsy.com where I also have a lot of vintage items. Larger items (furniture) are sold locally only as shipping quotes have been outrageous. And now selling at a local handmade store: Craft Crazy in Salem, Oregon.
Mary Engelbreit, Laura Ashley, Frida Kahlo (yes, very different - I know).
Favorite Music/Musicians:
Almost anything - I love music! I play music while I create things - it adds to the atmosphere.
Favorite TV Show & Movies:
TV Shows: I love reality TV, especially Survivor and I like crime dramas (CSI, Law and Order). People and what makes them do what they do is very interesting to me.
Movies: Napoleon Dynamite, Little Women, Legends of the Fall - timeless movies are my favorites.
Favorite Books / Authors:
Unfortunately with all of my jobs (which require a lot of reading) and 2 little ones (who require a lot of time), I don't read much for pleasure. I do love Maya Angelou!
I just finished putting together my blog that shows a lot about me and how I create my work, what inspires me... Take a look and let me know what you think! http://shabbynchic.blogspot.com/
Thanks for the note! I have a lot of fun making tiny shabbies. You've got some lovely pieces un your shop.
