- Hi, my name is Sarah Ranes and I am a soapmaker living in central PA with my husband , 15 year old son and our wild husky dog Sitka. I guess I have always lived the Handmade lifestyle. My Mom, who was a very creative person, made all my clothes when I was young. She was always sewing or painting or crocheting. I went to art school and studied photography which I have pursued in one form or another, my entire adult life. I came to soapmaking through my love of cooking, herbs, and essential oils. I am always amazed to see all the wonderful things people create.
