My degree is in Medieval History, so I am fascinated with the historic aspect regarding art and culture. I utilize ancient fossils, stones and cultural artifacts within my pieces to weave a tale about the primeval stories of earth and the history of people and civilizations. My spinning and weaving style is simple, however, I incorporate color and texture to make some dramatic pieces. In my work you will find fine materials like smooth organic hemp twine and yarns, beautiful Irish linen, colorful textured homespun in various fibers like alpaca and wool. I utilize beautiful stones, ancient fossils and cultural artifacts within my pieces. My jewelry is woven by hand on my Inkle Loom. Macrame and other knotting techniques are utilized within the item and as also a finishing on the weave.
They are designs that incorporate beautiful fibers, natural leather, funky woven textures, fossils & ancient stones.
Made with 100% long fiber fine hemp yarn and smooth waxed organic hemp twine and very fine waxed Irish Linen thread.
Sometimes I will weave fossils, funky beads, gem or mineral stones, beach pebbles or sea glass, through the piece. I always use unique trinkets that are cool, cultural, primeval, and fabulous.
All jewelry items are adjustable in size to fit almost any wrist or neck or ankle. Simply tie one on and go!!!
