Getting ready to teach polymer clay classes

I enjoy teaching polymer and PMC classes. I have worked in polymer clay for about 16 years and precious metal clay for 6 years. Getting ready to teach and supply all the materials and tools takes some planning and gathering. I usually begin with making a list of materials for the technique being taught. Next, I write a class description. If a handout is being used, which I usually have for students, I prepare the steps and drawings. Building Better Beads Class

Creating some Bright canes

I had a request for a writing pen covered in bright pinks and greens using polymer clay. I have made neon pink, green and yellow canes, wrapped in a thin sheet of black and a sheet of white. I am thinking of using a black background for one pen and maybe a purple one then apply the cane slices for her choice. I will post photos of them when I finish. These simple bright colored canes are fun to make and use. I can use these canes for bright beaded bracelet, also.

Working up a storm

I have just uploaded photos of a weave cane. I made three canes in three color combos. My friend, Suzanne, and I had a clay day on Friday and made the weave cane from Lisa Clarke in Polymer Cafe. I will probably make beads and fabric from the weave cane. I have pendants in metal clay almost ready for the kiln. One of the pendants is for the Cystic Fibrosis auction. I have two hearts and one cameo style pendant .I will post photos of these when I get them finished.
