Hey Don,
You should be totally jealous... This weekend I'm taking a class with Mary Ann Scherr.... Day one was today... It was long, but good.

Hello. You are quite talented. I've just started with Indiepublic and have a shop on Etsy.com - BananaIsleCreations@Etsy.com. I am hoping for some advice on how to promote my shop. Got any ideas for a starving jewelry designer? Thanks, Terry

Hey Don!
It has been way too long! I've been busy with school... I get to write a huge paper for my writing class along with a few other smaller papers... I also get to take massive horrifying art history exams for history of modern art. I'm going to the MJSA Expo in New York in April. It's right before my birthday... I'll let you know how it is. Anyway, miss your e-mails and guidence. I'll send you an e-mail ASAP with some pictures of what I've been up to. Oh, ever talk to that other gallery?
Take CARE!
Caitlin

About Me:
All of us have a varying need to create; be it in the form of family, business, art or the endless aspects our humanity affords us. I am a self-taught metal smith, chain maker, carver and lapidary. The beauty of nature provides the endless inspiration behind my artwork. There is something spiritual to me about spending time in the hills, the desert, a streambed, a mine or under the ocean searching these raw natural environments for the bountiful gifts of beauty that lay all around us. I'm also happy to let others procure items from nature for my designs and seldom pass up the opportunity to delight in gem shows. I also derive a great deal of pleasure from the thought processes that go into the evolution of my designs. I have a fascination with creating new ways to join things together. My art affords me the freedom to decide if I will leave a stone or other material in its natural form or alter its appearance through shaping, carving, faceting, forging or firing. You will find the majority of my artwork revolves around kinetic motion. To me, movement imitates life. My jewelry line challenges society’s perceptions of perfection, beauty and value through the use of many different materials. I derive just as much pleasure from uniquely wrapping a pebble in silver or other rustic metal as I do from setting a flawless diamond in a platinum conventional setting. My hope is that you too will see the beauty in simple things as I do.

Repeat Customers

There was a great question I came across from another artist while looking through the Forums on Etsy that sought advice from others on how to generate a client base of repeat customers. I was amazed at how few responses there were. The responses that came in were ok but, in my opinion, fell short of having an indepth awareness of where their efforts should be focused to secure their objective of repeat clients. This is the advice I gave. I hope that it is well received here and that you walk

It's been a good month!

Well, I started my Etsy account a month ago and have been here on Indie for just a few days. Overall, it's been a good month. I had 4 sales and my first Treasury on Etsy made it to the front page within about 30 minutes after I opened it. I hope it helped the artist whom I had the good fortune of featuring. I feel very fo
