Turquoise: The stone of the shamam

One of my favorites stones ( is there really such a thing , they are all so fun) is Turquoise. It is a beautiful stone in shades from light greens to dark blue. It is a secondary mineral found near copper veins with the chemical formula of CuAl6 ( PO4) 4 (OH) 8 - 4 ( H2O) It has a hardness of 5-6 between apatite and orthoclase. Turquoise was named afer it's origal source in Turkey as it traveled back to Europe.

Happy Earth Day !! It is time to make your yard bee friendly . Other than making yummy honeyHahoney bees pollinate most vegetables and fruits that do not have pollination by wind . In 2006 beekeepers , reported 30 to 90 percent losses of their hives. Since then Colony Collapse Disorder has continued to be a concern. Some believe that pesticides are stressing the bee populations, especially the newer nicotine based formulations. Other stressors include invasive mites and immune damaging viruses.… Continue
