Karen Sloan was born in Toronto, but currently resides in Haliburton County, which is just south of Algonquin Park. Leaving the city behind for life in a rural setting has given Karen the ability to become a full time artist. She creates whimsical, bold and jazz inspired acrylic paintings on canvas and Papier Mache sculpture.
