About Me:

My name....C. Masi. My very own shop, Ciara Obscura, is what you are visting now. I'm a tweeker of trinketry, a Get-My-Hands-Messy-With-Making-Stuff kind of gal...so it's only natural that I gravitated toward making jewelry over the past few years. I've left my art teaching behind me and have moved onward to very own art...and have found my happy place.

The Ciara Obscura jewelry line is a one gal owned and crafted operation. I'm motivated by the principle that good, solid, mighty & daring art can find their way onto the right people (making them instant superheroes!). The majority of my goodies are one of a kind- but once in a while I will have extra of a particular material that I am currently digging and so I'll make maybe 3-5 of a limited production design. I live with my husband, Sebastian ( http://www.OtherWorldTattoo.com ) and puppy dog, Mars, in a home spewing with art of our making, our friends' making and random sticks and plant discoveries that the pup has dragged in from outside.

Oh geez... I'm fairly predictable here (embarrassingly so, in fact):
any skilled Art Nouveau art (textiles, furniture, jewelery, architecture...); I'm also a Mucha fan (again- typical), Modigliani, Taro Gomi (I like to throw in a little UNpredictability every now and again), solid traditional Japanese art, Sebastian Orth, Brian Newlin, Jen Newlin, Florence Broadhurst ...and kids six years of age and younger
