I love scrounging for vintage beads and buttons and turning them into fun, kitschy jewelry!
I also have a wonderfully crappy full time job and live in a wonderfully boring tourist town in the middle of nowhere, NY. ( I look on the bright side!)
Sam Waterston lives somewhere around here and I think he knows that if he ever came into my work I would flip out because he hasn't stopped in since I started working there.
I also enjoy some good knitting and am currently making myself the coolest of cool tetris scarves.

the most fabulous jewelry from buttons and assorted vintage baubles. I'm not opposed to using new supplies, but don't you just get a thrill from vintage beads?
So here's the deal, I'm going to give one of you a new iPod Touch for being my friend on ThisNext. All you have to do is click here, sign up/in and click the "add +" below my picture and you're done. I've made it all on one page, so it takes about 43 seconds.
That's really all there is to it, but if you want more details visit slim slow slider.
On a grander note, I really believe you could benefit from the site.
Ha! yea my weird neighbor would come over and she wanted to cover the strangest 'news' stories...i can't even imagine what i would hear if i found those and listened, lol.
...now back to making my scarf-ish thing...on etsy, i saw these mini-scarves that have a BUTTON to close it close around your neck! so that means i have to make one for fall! i'm pretty excited...but however will i choose just one button...
well, as I'm sure you know, Ohio is fully of antique/junk shops, so hopefully you'll have a diamond in the rough near where you're going!
I actually might still have them somewhere...I'm not sure whatever happened to all the cassette tapes I recorded with various TV shows or my own newscasts, etc....lol. swift!!!! we had a fox hanging around our yard when I was little and I was totally not scared of it because I was convinced it was Swift.
and not enough people appreciate that little toaster. :D
Ha, thanks! So far that's been my favorite thing to make--I was psyched when I found all those materials in one fell swoop at a po-dunky flea market--started as soon as I got home, lol. Do you have a lot of awesome resource-ish shops near you? It looks like it from the sweet buttons you use...I'm from SE Ohio (yea, the part without any city association...), but I make it up to Cleveland--recently saw Swell Season (familiar?) play at the Playhouse Theater up there! I'm sure Ohio would love to have you back!
And I am always thrilled to find a fellow David the Gnome enthusiast--most people don't know what I'm even talking about, but I totally sat next to my TV with a little tape recorder and recorded episodes with the little toy mic.....and I'm still that dedicated.
and there is your reply in book-form. i expect a thorough book report due date TBA. :P I always leave too-long-messages. oops.
I was just in your shop on etsy today--LOVE IT. then i was poking around here (i'm new and figuring it out) and saw the very same necklace i was admiring earlier!! just had to pop in and say hello :D all your things just make me smile, lol
