Welcome! Are you creating the silver parts of your pendants with PMC? Just wondered. Looking forward to your earrings--I've been in that mode, too....and Etsy is good---you may wish to check out ArtFire, too, as there are still some charter ($7/mo) membership available there, f.y.i. Good luck on the photos!

Thank you so much for the compliment! I like your use of fiber in your jewelry. It gives a textural, organic feel to your work. Very artsy!

I began my jewelry journey 10 years ago when I learned to wire wrap. Since then, I've learned to make my own dichroic glass, learned to bead, love to macrame and do kumihimi. Read 'em and weep

Gosh, I spent hours of this rainy day reading Etsy advice and am more discouraged than EVER! How do people find the time to read this stuff, go to social websites, clean the house, take care of kids, work and STILL have time to create? I need a clone!
So far, I have figured out from reading Etsy advice that
1. I have NOT found my "niche".
2. I am not diverse enough. Good Goddess! I did take the first steps toward changing this when I put up knit items. However, I need pictures of my beautiful po… Continue

Really Discouraged

I have to admit, I've been really discouraged. I've been on Etsy for months and have yet to sell anything. There are so many talented jewelry makers out there!!!! I'm just a tiny frog in a great big ocean of people! I read marketing articles, I changed my descriptions, I added more items. Nothing! My own daughter went to visit my site and got sidetracked and bought a bracelet from someone else! ARGHHHHH! Anyhow, I decided to put some of my knit purses and hats in the store. My young grandsonContinue

Keepsake

Tiny Tim spent the day with me. What a great opportunity to make a gift for his mother's pinning ceremony on May 1st. I rolled out the silver clay and picked a texture for one side. TT helped me cut out the heart shape then he put his little fingerprint on the backside of the heart. I dried it and fired it in the kiln while we played outside then put it in the tumbler to shine it up. While he plaed, I braided a kumihimi cord for her bracelet. And, we have a picture to present with it so she can… Continue

Pearlz 'n ribbon

I saw this photo of a celebrity wearing a ribbon and pearl necklace by Lanvin. Went on the net to look it up and found that it cost $1100 dollars! Imagine that! I decided to try to make something similar. I made mine shorter and used freshwater pearls. I already sold two of these as soon as I had them done. But I didn't charge $1000 bucks!!!!

I believe

I believe in magic. I especially believe in the small magicks of everyday things. Over a year ago, I began a podcast called Salem Avenue. It's a mythical place where you could learn about stone lore, animal myths, herbal wisdom and how to use color and armoa therapies to enhance your life. Salem Avenue took on a kind of reality to listeners.

I believe there is a magik in wearing something beautiful tha was created by hand, not mass produced by machines. I think that when we began wearing mass p… Continue
