My name is Anna. I have been a hands-on do-it-yourselfer all my life, a lesson learned from my parents. I am from a small town in Northwest Ohio and now live in the San Francisco Bay Area. I came to California for graduate school and completed my Master's in Art History in June 2008. While I was in school, I craved the time it took to make things by hand-- I taught myself to crochet and to use a sewing machine. Eventually, I returned to jewelry-making, something I learned from my mother who was a jeweler herself and owned her own store for 25 years. She is still a great help to me.
Since my background is in art history, my inspiration is drawn from the past. I try to adhere to one policy: "keep it simple." I love repurposing old things and giving them a new life and I re-use everything I possibly can. I mine thrift stores for inspiration and would describe my aesthetic as stream-line vintage. I live with my husband, Chris, our three cats, Bump, Axl, and Lily, and our dog, Luna.
