ByHand is an online social community where you can promote your products directly to buyers. Add your shop to the Artisan Directory, blog about your work, participate in the forums and contests, or create a Spotlight!
So, what are Spotlights?
Spotlights are a special signature feature to ByHand ( http://www.byhand.me ) and really what sets it apart from other social communities. Spotlights ( http://www.byhand.me/component/option,com_spotlight/Itemid,73/ ) are very similar to Etsy's Treasuries. They basically allow you to curate any 9 items in a gallery format. What's unique to Spotlights, however, is that you can pull products from ANY shop on Art Fire, Etsy, DaWanda, or 1000Markets. You can then share these handpicked items to the world. They show up not only on the main Spotlights page, but in your ByHand profile as well. Even better, Spotlights never expire, and are only removed when you choose to delete them.
Marketing with Spotlights.
Not only can you share Spotlights within the ByHand community, you can share Spotlights OUTSIDE of the community as well. Adam recently created a new function for Spotlights that allows you to post CLICKABLE Spotlights to your personal blog, social community or on ByHand. This is great for promoting your own work or other artists that are part of your Art Fire Guild or Etsy team. Now there's no need to screenshot Spotlights, or even Etsy Treasuries, and link them yourself. Plus, they never disappear!
Even better, every time you create a Spotlight, it WILL post to twitter automatically. Just follow http://twitter.com/infivision to see!
