Artists Who Rescue, Maintain and Keep Wayward Animals

Wayward artist with wayward pets? Two constants in my life - a love for animals and a love of art. I express myself through my attempts to help those animals who need me. In turn I am inspired by their courage and longevity!

I have rescued about 20 dogs, 50 cats, five birds and a blind horse. I have provided for them from the minute they came into my life until the minute they went to the rainbow bridge. Right now about 26 kindred spirits reside with me.

Hi everyone! I'm new to Indiepublic and this group really caught my eye! I have 4 recued dachshunds and my daughter has 2 retired greyhounds. I also support rescue orgs in my etsy shop where I have fun accessories for pets and their moms and dads. So happy to meet people with a great big heart for animals!

We are going to FL in a few weeks and will be bringing back two greyhounds who have been adopted. One is going to Ottawa and the other to Nova Scotia. We are so excited to be able to help these families get their new adoptees.
Our RV will be full with our own 4 dogs (3 greyhounds and a toy poodle) and 2 extras. it will be an "interesting" trip home but very rewarding.

heres my rescued pooch San Diego. We call him Diego. I almost ran him over after he ran into the street because some stupid teens were picking on him... I love my pups!

Isn't he the cutest thing ever...one of my pound puppies, Tugg, who I use in some of my photos. For those of you wondering, yes he is full grown and he is Daschund/Pitbull mix around 20 lbs. and as sweet as can be...the tail wagging and the kisses never stop.

What a great group! All of my pets have been pound puppies or stray cats and I am a regular at the 4 shelters in my area. If I could take them all I would. Glad to be apart of a nice group.

I recently made the difficult decision to sell Greyt Inspirations and return to my first love, art in many forms (pencil drawings, painting, painting on clothing, and woodcarving). In January, I started doing some pencil drawings. I drew a picture a few days ago that I think is my best since I returned to the art scene. It is a drawing of a friends dog, she likes it so much she wanted to buy it from me (of course, she gets it as a gift...).

Anyone interested in an established online pet products (dog collars and leashes) business? www.greytinspirations.com

Hi everyone! I think this is a fabulous idea for a group!!! Wayward artist with wayward pets! I love it! I am only 24 and I have been saving strays from elementary school. My grandmother raised me and taught me that all life is valuable and set and example by shooing lady bugs, bees, and chipmunks (an occasional bird) out of the house. She was always pulling over to try to catch a stray cat or dog, and many ended up as family.

Well, so she influenced me! To my husbands dismay! Although, I influenced him and he saves dogs and cats all on his own now!! It is a real problem, strays. It breaks my heart. I don't have much experience with other animals. Props to those of you with raccons and possums and the like! My mother saved a one eye horse years ago who recently passed away. Our newest wayward is a beagle named banjo. He is completely blind, but it does not stop him! He needs to be more careful! But, on the lead, he backpacks with us, loves to lay in my lap or the sun and chase the big dogs playing fetch while howling! He has such spirit it brings tears to my eyes how someone could throw him out. We also have a rescue pit bull who was so emaciated he has gained 60 lbs since we found him on a highway in NC at age 2. Our other 2 dogs and cat have quite similar stories. I just think it's wonderful how us rescuers get so into it! Someone needs to! I saw a bumper sticker about spaying and neutering today.. anyone know where I can get one? here are some pics! Sorry for all the chat! I'm glad to be part of this group! I am a painter, drawing artist and sculptor. http://giovannaart.net/

What a great group! Both my husband and myself are very much into greyhound adoptions. We help out however, wherever we can and currently have 3 of our own (we recently lost one).
We are both artists of sorts too. I love pencil drawing, charcoal, watercolor painting, & digital art.
My husband is the stained glass artist.
We both specialize in animals, mostly dogs.
We have a website:

Drop by for a visit. You may be surprised at what you find.
